Michael Fu Tieshan, chairman of the Catholic Patriotic Association of China, met with Archbishop Peter Jasper Akinola, the Primate of All Nigeria, on Thursday, discussing religious development in the two countries.

Fu Tieshan, also vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress, briefed the guests on China's religious policies and the development of different religions in the country.

Fu spoke highly of the friendship between China and African countries and their current cooperation in promoting a new type of strategic partnership.

Akinola, praising China's religious development and domestic construction, said he is willing to strengthen mutual understanding between the religious circles of the two countries, and further develop the friendly relations.
