Chilean soccer league champion, Colo Colo, has bought the one-year contract for Argentina's Miguel Caneo, a winger for Argentine club Boca Juniors, for 190,000 U.S. dollars, Caneo told media on Friday.
"I know that Colo Colo is an important club, that it has to play in the Copa Sudamericana and the Libertadores, and I hope to make a real contribution," said Caneo, who had signed a two-year contract with Boca a year ago.
Colo Colo, Chile's most popular club, has also signed Alexis Sanchez, a promising Chilean footballer who had been on a transfer with Italian club Udinese.
"I have played in a variety of mid-field positions -- as winger, on the flank, and as a link player in the last season," said Caneo, who played for Quilmes before playing for Boca.
Colo Colo's manager, Claudio Borghi, is also shopping for a first-rate goalkeeper, after Claudio Bravo left to join Spanish club Real Sociedad. Club officials have already told press they are considering Sebastian Cejas, the former Fiorentina keeper, Paraguayan keeper Danilo Aceval and Argentines Jose Ramirez and Laureano Tombolini.
