9 killed as landslide buries village in western Nepal

At least nine people were killed and over 20 missing when a landslide buried over a dozen of houses in Ulleri village in Kaski district in western Nepal Friday night, District Police Office said Saturday.

According to the police, at least eight bodies buried in the landslide have been recovered.

Over 18 houses were said to have been damaged in a massive landslide, some 200 km west of Kathmandu, the police said in a statement.

A rescue team including police personnel from Kaski and Parbat districts reached the incident site Saturday afternoon.
