Syrian People's Assembly ( parliament) on Saturday condemned Israeli aggression in Lebanon and the Palestinian territories as a threat to world security and stability, the official SANA news agency reported.
The aggression "on brotherly Lebanon" had led to the destruction of its infrastructures and the killing of dozens of civilians, the Syrian parliament said in a statement.
The statement expressed support to the Lebanese people and their national resistance to restore its occupied territories.
It also underlined Syria's solidarity with Lebanon and demanded immediate halt to this aggression.
Israel waged massive air raids and imposed sea blockade on Lebanon in response to a cross-border attack by Hezbollah militants who kidnapped two Israeli soldiers and killed eight others on Wednesday.
Some 79 Lebanese people have been killed and over 250 injured since Israel launched air, sea and ground strike, the Qatar-based al-Jazeera TV quoted Lebanese health minister as saying on Saturday.
