Home Minister Krishna Rasa Sitaula said that more than 150 persons including personnel of the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force, the rescue teams and District Red Cross and local social and political workers are involved in the rescue and rehabilitation.

Acting Chief District Officer of Kaski Badrinath Ghimire said rescue efforts for missing are still going on.

According to the report, the trekking route of the renowned Ghorepani Bireneti, some 200 km west of Kathmandu, has also been disrupted as a result of the landslide.

Meanwhile, the emergency meeting Sunday of the Natural Calamity Committee in Kaski has decided to expedite the search and rescue work, relief to the displaced, assessment of the damages incurred, rehabilitation, reconstruction and livelihood and education of the members of the affected families.

"We are trying out best to provide relief in the area," Ghimire was quoted by the radio as saying.
