Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) researchers unveil a US$100, hand-cranked laptop computer on the World Information Society in Tunis Nov 16. The $100 laptop makes public appearance in Beijing on Saturday, July 15, 2006. The laptop, based on AMD 500MHz processor and Linux operating system, is designed for the impoverished children in developing countries.
