Cigarette enterprises reduced to 40

The tobacco industry in China has developed steadily. In the first half of the year, it recorded a profit of 152.5 billion yuan, an increase of 18.5 per cent from the previous. Of this amount, tax makes up 93.3 billion yuan, an increase of 15.4 per cent. The production of cigarette factories and name brands has further intensified. By the end of June, the number of cigarette enterprises in China had reduced to 40, of which 11 have a production capacity of over 15 million boxes, and 5 over 20 million boxes.
