Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing held phone talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Beijing Thursday.

The two sides exchanged views on the implementation of the important consensus reached by Chinese President Hu Jintao and Russian President Vladimir Putin and some other issues of common concern.

Hu held a meeting with Putin when attending the outreach session of the Group of Eight (G8) summit in Russia's St. Petersburg. The two leaders exchanged views on deepening bilateral ties as well as major international and regional issues, including the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue.
