font size

According to data from the third National Conference of the Chinese Association of Port-of-entry, the amount of cargo and containers passing through Chinese ports has reached 4.91 billion tons and 75.8 million standard containers, the largest in the world for three years running.

Currently China has all manners of ports -- seaports, river ports, airports and inland ports along China's borders. At the end of 2005, China had 253 first-class ports open: 133 seaports and river ports, 17 ports along railways, 47 ports along highways and 56 airports.
