The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) withdrew its representatives from the inter-Korean economic cooperation committee office on Friday, South Korean official confirmed Saturday.
"The North side (DPRK) notified (Seoul) on Friday that some of its representatives at the inter-Korean economic cooperation promotion committee office are withdrawing," said Yang Chang-seok, a spokesman for the Unification Ministry.
"Therefore, we think we will face difficulties for a while in working-level negotiations between the governments which have been conducted at the economic cooperation promotion committee office," Yang said.
The inter-Korean economic cooperation promotion committee is composed with representatives from South Korea and DPRK, including five to six civilian and business delegates from each side. It was established as a body to discuss government and business projects between the two sides.
