China, Argentina have great potential for cooperation

China and Argentina are both large developing countries whose economies complement one another and show great potential for cooperation, Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan said in Beijing on Friday.

"The two countries have cooperated extensively in the economic field, in trade, science and technology, with encouraging achievements," Zeng said when meeting Francisco Macri, chairman of Socma, one of Argentina's biggest industrial conglomerates.

He noted that Argentina is an important partner for China in Latin America.

Zeng expressed his hope that Socma will strengthen exchanges with Chinese enterprises and expand the scope of cooperation, in order to achieve mutual benefits and contribute to China-Argentina economic and trade development.

Socma's business covers numerous fields, including architecture, public services, automobiles, energy, and agricultural technologies.
