Indian company unveils several investment plans

The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, one of the biggest energy and communication enterprises in India, Friday proposed to build a 12,000 MW coal-based power plant in Orissa in eastern India with an investment of 500 billion Rupees ( about 10 billion U.S. dollars), according to Indo-Asian News Service.

The group plans to build the plant in phases of 4,000 MW at Hirma in the western district of Jharsuguda of the state, chairman of the group Anil Ambani said.

Ambani said his group also plans to invest 10 billion Rupees ( 200 million dollars) in the state's information technology sector that would include an IT university after his father's name.

He said his group also plans to invest 5 billion Rupees (100 million dollars) on health schemes in the state.
