Pakistan's philanthropist leaves for Beirut relief operation
font size

Pakistan's most active philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi left for Beirut Saturday to help affected people due to the Israeli bombing, a spokesman for his group said.

A three-member delegation of the Edhi Foundation has also carried one million U.S. dollars to buy essential goods for distribution among the affected people.

Prior to his departure, Edhi said that he will go to Beirut to help the needy people despite risks, according to the spokesman.

The Pakistani government said it will offer aid to Lebanon if its delivery becomes possible.

Pakistani major cities have witnessed rallies organized by religious, political parties and non-government organizations to protest against Israeli attacks.
