Israel is building detention center for holding Hizbollah gunmen that will be captured in the imminent battles in Lebanon, local newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Saturday.

According to the exclusive report, Israeli troops has started constructing a temporary detention compound at a military base in northern Israel, which is to be used for holding hundreds of Lebanese detainees taken during the future operations in southern Lebanon.

Construction works are already underway.

The decision to build a detention facility came after the decision to mobilize reservists earlier this week and prepare for a ground offensive inside Lebanon in the near future, the report said, citing military officials.

This project suggests that Israeli government is indeed planning for an extensive operation inside Lebanon.
