Swedish King wraps up six-day China visit
font size

Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf on Saturday night left Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, concluding his six-day state visit to China.

Chinese President Hu Jintao on Thursday met with King Carl XVI and Queen Silvia in Chinese capital.

King Carl XVI's visit coincided with the arrival of a replica of the 18th century Swedish merchant ship Gotheborg in Guangdong Province after a nine-month voyage.

King Carl XVI attended a series of activities commemorating the Gotheborg, which mysteriously sank off Sweden's coast in 1745 with a cargo of Chinese porcelain, silk and tea.
