Guatemalan baseball player Hugo Pivaral tested positive for a banned substance at the 20th Central American and Caribbean Games in the Colombian city of Cartagena, sports authorities told media on Sunday.
Organizers announced the test result of the 29-year-old without releasing details about the case.
"The Executive Committee of the Pan-American Sports Organization (Odecabe) has agreed to accept the recommendation of the medical commission in the case of the positive doping test of Guatemalan athlete Hugo Pivaral," the organization said.
The medical commission will analyze around 500 urine samples during the three weeks of the Games, at the laboratories of the Colombian Sports Agency, in Colombia's capital Bogota.
