Singapore's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 1.4 percent in June this year over the corresponding month of last year, according to figures released by the Singapore Department of Statistics (SDS) on Monday.
The price index for housing increased by 4.7 percent in June over a year ago while that for education and stationery grew by 2 percent in the same month.
The CPI for food rose by 1.8 percent in the sixth month of this year and the clothing and footwear price index grew by 1.1 percent in the month.
The indices for health care and recreation rose by 1 percent and 0.2 percent year-on-year in June respectively, while the CPI for transport and communication continued to drop by 1.4 percent in the same month.
The CPI for the first half of this year rose by 1.3 percent over the same period of 2005.
