A total of 236 organizations from 63 countries and regions are booked to attend the 10th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) from Sept. 8 to 12 in Xiamen, a port city in east China's Fujian Province.
Preparations were well underway, said Huang Ling, director of the CIFIT organizing committee and vice mayor of Xiamen.
Participants include the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UDCTAD), the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), the World Trade Organization (WTO), the US-China Business Council, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the London Development Agency and the Macao Chamber of Commerce.
Huang said 43 organizations from 34 countries and regions had booked booths. Pavilion days would be scheduled for selected participants including Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands and Hong Kong.
The 10th CIFIT has registered 22,000 projects for domestic investment and 1,100 projects for overseas investment.
The duration for negotiations will be extended from three to five days and special events will be created for listed companies, Taiwan-invested enterprises, franchising, property right trade and advanced technology.
During the ninth CIFIT last year, 1,411 investment projects were signed and contracts worth 26.85 billion U.S. dollars were sealed.
