A regional Boeing research and development center for Central and Eastern Europe would possibly be established in Poland, Henryka Bochniarz, the President of Boeing International for Central and Eastern Europe, told reporters on Tuesday.
Talks are under way, she was reported by PAP news agency as saying in Warsaw.
She stressed that Polish firms might be covered by cooperation links built by biggest aviation companies. According to Bochniarz, Pratt & Whitney investments in Rzeszow in southern Poland and planned investments in Mielec, also in the south of Poland, show that the Polish aviation industry was considered by international firms as a potentially significant partner in Central and Eastern Europe.
Boeing is interested in cooperation with firms and research institutes in Central Europe, mainly in Poland, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, she said.
