Intel aims at China's rural market

On Tuesday morning the Ministry of Information Industry of the People's Republic of China signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on promoting Informatization in China's rural and urban areas, enterprises and logistic with Intel China in the city of Santa Clara, California, America. According to the memorandum, Intel will comprehensively enter the circles of cheap PC, Internet access, and education in China's rural areas for the next five years, which will also receive support from the Chinese government.

The spokesman of Intel said this plan would focus on popularizing the use of computers, offering net access and strengthening education. They will make full use of US$ 30 million within the period of validity to help with the information aspect in China's rural and some other areas.
