Broadcasting coverage exceeds 90% in Tibet

With 415 million yuan of government's investment and 54.1 million yuan of local funds, a total of 75 broadcasting launch pads have been established in border areas and more than three sets of programs can be received since the "Tibet-Xingjiang Project", meaning extending the broadcasting coverage rate in Tibet Autonomous Region and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, was initiated in 2000, said Zhang Chongyin, chairman of Administration of Radio, Film and Television of Tibet. By the end of July, the coverage rate of broadcasting had increased to 90.77 percent in Tibet and that of the medium wave reached 39 percent.
