A team of Chinese riot police involved in a UN peacekeeping mission in Haiti has received a commendation for their outstanding performance in the crisis-torn country, according to reports from the Haitian capital city of Port-au-Prince on Wednesday.
The UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti awarded the commendation to the 125-member team, who would soon leave for home after fulfilling their eight-month mission in Haiti.
The Chinese riot police have supported the international peacekeeping presence, assisted and trained local police in law enforcement, as well as dealt with mass public security emergencies in Haiti.
