The body of an Indonesian female worker killed in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon arrived at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Thursday and received honorary reception from several key officials.
Siti Maemunah, 24, who worked as maid for her Kuwaiti employers, was killed last month in the wake of Israel's massive military campaign in southern Lebanon.
"On behalf of the president, I offer his condolence to the family. The president would like to attend this ceremony himself but he had been scheduled to attend the OIC meeting in Malaysia," said Manpower Minister Erman Soeparno.
Soeparno was accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry for Women's Empowerment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From the airport, the remains of Maemunah were sent to her hometown of Sukabumi in West Java for funeral.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday joined with leaders and key officials from 17 other Islamic countries in the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) in Malaysia to voice calls for cease fire, humanitarian relief and U.N.-led peacekeeping mission in Middle East.
