font size

The first phase of Chakwal cement plant in Pakistan, constructed by China Building Material Industrial Corporation for Foreign Econo-Technical Cooperation (CBMC) under China Material Industrial Scientific and Engineering Group, was completed on July 31st. Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf partook in the completion ceremony and laid the cornerstone for the second phase project.

Addressing the ceremony, Musharraf said the first phase of Chakwal cement plant, which would soon start operation, will play an active role in promoting Pakistan's economic development and infrastructure construction. He extended his appreciation to Chinese builders for their efficient work.

The first phase of Chakwal cement plant is the largest cement production line that CBMC ever built overseas up until now. It is also Pakistan's first large cement production line with an annual manufacture capacity of over 5,500 tons.
