Two Indonesia's national TV stations agreed Friday to merge the management after Trans TV bough a 49 percent stake in TV-7.
The purchase was sealed when executives from both companies signed the strategic partnership agreement here.
Despite its minority ownership, Trans TV executives will fill president director and vice president posts in TV-7, whose 51 percent stake was owned by leading publishing firm Gramedia.
"Trans TV now owns a 49 percent stake in TV-7, in accordance with the government ruling," said Trans TV president Chairul Tandjung. He didn't disclose the acquisition value.
Trans TV now enjoys a rating rate of 13.8 percent against TV-7's 6 percent.
