Stocks close higher in Mexico, Brazil, lower in Argentina

Latin America's three major stock markets closed mixed on Friday.

Mexico City's stock market IPC index rose by 0.46 percent to close at 20,354.99 points. A total of 119.2 million shares were traded at 273 million U.S. dollars.

In Sao Paulo, Latin America's biggest bourse, the leading Bovespa index closed at 37,847 points, up 1.06 percent. The trade volume was 976 million dollars.

The Buenos Aires stock market closed with the Merval index down 1.86 percent to end at 1,683.9 points. The trade volume was 14.956 million dollars.
