Kuwait's exports rose by 30 percent in June as compared to that of May, as it reached 12 million Kuwaiti dinars (40.8 million U.S. dollars), Kuwait News Agency reported Saturday.
The June monthly economic bulletin of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce was quoted as saying that the most Kuwaiti exports consist of crude oil, textiles, cotton products, insulation products and car lubricants.
The bulletin ranked Turkey the largest importer in June, noting that Kuwait's exports to Turkey amounted to 2.7 million Kuwaiti dinars (about 9.18 million dollars), accounting for 37 percent of the total exports to non-Arab states, which accounted for 7 million dinars (23.8 million dollars) or 59 percent of the total exports.
Among the non-Arab importers, Italy came second with an amount of 1.4 million dinars (4.76 million dollars) and Britain third with 479,000 dinars (1.63 million dollars), said the bulletin.
It added that the exports to non-Arab states consist mainly of cotton products, chemicals, plastics, animal fat and ready-to-wear clothing.
According to the bulletin, Kuwaiti exports to Arab states reached 5 million dinars (17 million dollars) in June.
Syria was the highest Arab importer, accounting for 1.6 million dinars (5.44 million dollars), while Jordan came second with 1.2 million dinars (4.08 million dollars) and Egypt came third with 1. 1 million dinars (3.74 million dollars).
