At least five members of the same family died of AIDS in a village of mid-western Nepal, local media reported Monday.

"At least five people, including a man with his wife, son and two daughters, died of AIDS at Tatopani village of Surkhet district, some 600 km west of Kathmandu," government run National News Agency (NNA), reported.

The man and his son died seven years ago in Bandra area in India while undergoing treatment there, NNA quoted Deepak Jaisi, a relative of the decreased family, as saying.

His wife died a year later followed by deaths of two of their daughters, Jaisi revealed.

The disease has also killed another man in the village.

According to a health worker of the village, most of the youths of the village who are going to India in search of jobs come home with the killer disease.
