China's sedan export booms

China's sedan export in the first half year of 2006 exceeded the level in the whole of 2005 with 34,506 sedans which is 259.5% more than the same period of last year.

Moreover, Chinese integrated motor vehicle export has kept continuous increase for three years.

The export of sedans has a rapid increase, and the export amount has reached 27.5% of the total numbers of China's motor vehicle export with the sum of money of US$ 243 million which is 250.3% more than the same period of last year and accounts for 19.4% of the total amount of China's motor vehicle export, according to the statistics from the motor vehicle affiliate of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products.

The number of exported sedans in 2005 is 31,124 with the total amount of US$ 271 million.

The sedans that China mainly exports are the styles that have the emission amount from 1,000 to 1,500 ml. The total number of these export sedans is 24,609, which is 356.5% more than the same period of last year. These sedans have the sum of export money of US$ 184 million, which is 594.6% more than the same period of last year. These kinds of sedans account for respectively 71.3% of the export numbers of sedans and 75.5% of the total amount of sedans.

China's motor vehicle export has continued to maintain strong growth momentum from January to June in 2006, which is showed by exported motor vehicles of 125,500 including sets of parts of motor vehicle but without vehicle chassis equipped with engine. The 125,500 exported motor vehicles are 86.8% more than the same period of last year. The total amount of auto export is US$ 12.55 million which is 115.1% more than the same period of last year.

"It is worth mentioning that the average price of China's per exported automobile has been rising, which means that the grade of exported automobiles has been promoted," said Fu Peizhao, a senior engineer of the motor vehicle affiliate of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products.
