Tokyo stocks advanced almost across the board Tuesday morning, with bargain-hunting stirring following the previous day's sharp sell-off.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 199.83 points, or 1.32 percent, in the morning to 15,353.89. The leading market yardstick lost 345.12 points the previous day.
The Tokyo Stock Price Index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 15.44 points, or 1.00 percent, to 1, 555.56.
