Angolan Prime Minister Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, affirmed in Luanda on Tuesday that the proposal for the revision of the 2006 State Budget was dictated by the perspectives of the world economy and by the evolution of the country's social and economic situation.
Addressing the plenary of the National Assembly, the premier stressed that the government decision was due to the change of thepresuppositions established in the elaboration of the State General Budget (OGE) for the current year.
Dias dos Santos said that the greatest capacity of the Angolan government's previsibility allowed, in an opportune time, to introduce corrections of the referred presuppositions, mainly based on the alterations in the production, prices and exporting of the crude oil.
The prime minister said, taking into account the behavior of oil price during the first half of the year and the tendency of its maintenance during the period, the estimate of 45.00 U.S. dollars per barrel, established in the OGE will now be placed in 56.00 U.S. dollars.
This referential is very conservative, he added, but "it is an element originating from external side" to the Angolan economy, inwhich prudence advises to act so, taking into account the volatility of oil prices in the international market.
