Flights from Tel Aviv to London canceled due to foiled terror plot
font size

All flights leaving the Ben Gurion international airport in Tel Aviv for London's Heathrow airport were canceled Thursday after British police foiled a major terrorist plot to blow up aircraft in mid-flight, local media reported.

The Heathrow airport is now closed to all incoming flights after British police said they had thwarted a plot to blow up planes between Britain and the United States.

British Home Secretary John Reid said the plot was "very significant" and designed to "bring down a number of aircraft through mid-flight explosions, causing a considerable loss of life. "
