A tourist was stabbed to death by an Arab assailant in Jerusalem on Thursday, an Israeli police source said.

The 25-year-old tourist was stabbed in a Palestinian neighborhood near Jerusalem's Old City and later died of his wounds, said the source.

The attacker, an Arab youth, fled the scene, he added.

Meanwhile, Italian media reported that the victim was an Italian named Angelo Framartino.

The motive for the attack was not immediately clear.
