The Dutch Bureau for Economic Policy Planning expects a growth of 3.25 percent for the economy of the Netherlands this year, up on an earlier forecast of 3 percent, Radio Netherlands reported on Friday.
The bureau also said unemployment will fall and purchasing power will strengthen this year.
In June, retail trade turnover was 6.6 percent up on the figures for the same month last year, with supermarkets, outlets for electrical goods and furniture shops doing especially well.
The figures of May showed an increase of 12 percent over last year. An increase in turnover of more than 10 percent has only occurred twice before over the past decade in the Netherlands.
