The Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) is ready to work with China to continue their efforts to develop the friendly relations between the two countries, said Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly on Friday.
During a meeting with outgoing Chinese ambassador Wu Donghe, Kim said the DPRK will devote active efforts to further deepen the traditional DPRK-China friendship.
Noting the vigorous development of bilateral ties in the past four years during which the top leaders of the two countries exchanged visits, Kim said much headway has been also made in bilateral economic cooperation.
The DPRK's top leader Kim Jong-il is devoting great attention to the development of the DPRK-China friendship, he said.
Wu was appointed as Chinese ambassador to the DPRK in late 2001.
