6 arrested for involving in cash-planting schemes in HK

Hong Kong Police arrested the two men and four women after raiding a company in Tsim Sha Tsui on Thursday, who were suspected to be involved in fraudulent cash- planting, according to a Police press release on Friday.

Initial investigations found that people were induced to participate in various cash-planting schemes.

One allegedly allowed members to get a 9,900 HK dollars (1,269 U.S. dollars) return a year after an investment of 2,940 HK dollars (377 U.S dollars).

Other schemes allegedly offered a lucrative referral bonus if members could recruit more people to invest with the company.

The total amount involved in these cash-planting schemes is still under investigation, and the six are being detained for inquiries.
