On July 13th, the Charity Association of Jiangsu province donated 500,000 yuan to the Association for the Survivors of the Nanjing Massacre. To date, over 3 million yuan has been raised for survivors' medical care and living allowance.
Zhu Chengshan, curator of the Memorial Hall for the Compatriots Murdered in the 1937 Nanjing Massacre, said there are more than 400 survivors still alive, and as most of them are aged over 80, their medical health and life condition requires more attention.
The survivors' association, founded in 2004 as a community group, has assisted over 30 survivors suffering from illness and living in poverty with support and donations from home and abroad.
