Indonesia targets biodiesel sales of 4 mln liters per dayIndonesia's state-run oil and gas firm PT Pertamina has targeted to boost its biodiesel sales to 4 million liters per day at the end of the year amid growing demand for the new fuel product, the company said Monday. The average sales of Pertamina's biodiesel have now grown to 1. 3 million liters per day, said marketing director Hanung Budya. The fuel product is made of 95 percent diesel oil and 5 percent vegetable oils. "We are confident to achieve the target because market response to biofuel is very encouraging," he told reporters here. The use of vegetable oil is targeted to reach 200,000 liters per day, a 0.67 percent cut of the estimated 11 billion liters annual diesel oil consumption, he said. In addition to Jakarta, Pertamina now sells biodiesel in five gas stations in the East Java capital of Surabaya. "We plan to increase the number of gas stations that sell biodiesel," he said.
