HK LegCo Panel to visit Japan, Denmark, Finland

Hong Kong's Legislative Council Panel on Environmental Affairs will conduct a 10-day overseas duty visit to Japan, Denmark and Finland from Aug. 22 to 31, a government press release said Wednesday.

The purpose of the visit is for the members to acquire first- hand information on the latest development in these countries on the avoidance and mitigation of environmental pollution in respect of waste management, air pollution control and water quality management.

During the visit, the delegation will visit relevant facilities and meet with government officials and parliamentarians of these countries to exchange views on issues of mutual concerns.

The delegation comprises five members - Panel Chairman and delegation leader Hon Choy So-yuk, Deputy Chairman of the Panel Hon Emily Lau Wai-hing, Panel members Hon Lau Kong-wah and Hon Lee Wing-tat (only joins the Denmark and Finland legs) and non-Panel member Hon Tam Yiu-chung (only joins the Japan leg).
