Singapore's non-oil exports up 8.4 pct in JulySingapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) posted a moderated growth of 8.4 percent in July, 2006 as compared with the same month of last year. According to the figures released by the International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore) on Thursday, the exports of electronic products rose by 5 percent in July over the previous year while the exports of non-electronic products expanded by 12 percent in the same month. The NODX to the United States continued to increase by 23 percent while the NODX to the European Union contracted for the second consecutive month by 9.6 percent in July year-on-year. The NODX to China reversed the strong growth of 32 percent in the previous month to decline by 6 percent in July from the corresponding month of last year. Singapore's total trade grew to 69 billion Singapore dollars ( about 44 billion U.S. dollars) in July,an increase of 16 percent over the same month of 2005, bringing the first seven months' total trade to 464 billion Singapore dollars (about 294 billion U.
