Industrial production down by 0.1 pct in eurozone

Seasonally adjusted industrial production declined by 0.1 percent in the eurozone in June 2006 compared to May 2006, Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union (EU) said on Thursday.

However, previously production rose by 1.8 percent in May in the eurozone and fell by 0.7 percent in April.

According to Eurostat, the output in the EU25 remained unchanged in June 2006, after an increase of 1.3 percent in May and a decrease of 0.2 percent in April.

In June 2006 compared to June 2005, industrial production rose by 4.3 percent in the euro area and by 4.0 percent in the EU25.
