font size

The Indian police set a reward of 100,000 rupees (2,325 U.S. dollars) for information on the terrorists who attacked a Hindu temple in northeast Indian state Manipur Wednesday, Indo-Asian News Service reported Saturday.

The Manipur state police have publicized several telephone numbers for the tippers, police spokesperson V. Karki said Saturday.

Unidentified militants tossed a grenade in a temple belonging to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKON) in the state capital Imphal Wednesday when hundreds of people went there to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna, a popular Hindu god.

Five people were killed and 66, including foreign devotees, were injured in the attack.

According to the police, 19 militants groups were based in Manipur but none of them has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.

At least four groups had condemned the attack.
