Australian dollar closes weaker

The Australian dollar closed lower at 76.06 U.S. cents Friday compared with Thursday's close of 76.60.

During the day's session the currency reached a low of 75.95 U. S.cents and a high of 76.23.

It finished at 88.22 yen from Thursday's close of 88.49 yen and at 59.26 euro cents from 59.59.
