Confessed killer of Ramsey to fly to Los Angeles
font size

John Mark Karr, the confessed killer of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, is set to leave a Thai jail and arrive in Los Angeles tomorrow night, a Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) official said on Saturday.

Karr, 41, is due to arrive at LAX aboard Thai Airways Flight 794 tomorrow at 8:40 p.m., LAX spokesman Harold Johnson said.

Karr, who was arrested in Thailand, told reporters in Bangkok on Thursday that he was with JonBenet when she died in 1996 and that her death was an accident.

But some observers doubt Karr's confession, saying he might be delusional and simply obsessed with the deceased child beauty pageant star.

FOX News reported on Saturday that Karr would stay in Los Angeles for one or two days while his paperwork is processed and then he would be sent to Colorado to face charges of murder, kidnapping and sexually assaulting a child.FOX did not source the information, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in California refused to comment.

LAX officials did not know how long Karr would stay in Los Angeles.

JonBenet was found dead in the basement of her family's home in Boulder, Colorado on Dec. 16, 1996. Karr told reporters that he was guilty, but that JonBenet's death was an accident.

Karr's arrest has made a great stir in the United States these days, with all media devoting most of their coverage to the news.
