The Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad will kick off his visit to Egypt on Monday, planing to meet with Egyptian President Husni Mubarak to discuss the situation in Lebanon and other economic issues, the Kuwaiti official news agency (KUNA) reported on Saturday.
In a statement to KUNA, Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Fayza Aboul Naga said that the visit will boost the brotherly relations between the two nations.
The top issues among the two leaders will be talked about the developments in the Palestine and Iraq, as well as in Lebanon, said the statement.
Aboul Naga also said that a joint supreme committee was formed in 1998 and has held a number of sessions to sign economic and cultural agreements to boost bilateral relations.
Kuwaiti investments top Arab investments in Egypt, she said, noting that the total value of Kuwaiti investments reached 78.8 million U.S. dollars in the last fiscal year, which began on April 1.
The investments have been financed a lot of projects in Egypt, among which the most vital two are the reconstruction of 400,000 acres north of Sinai worth 153 million dollars and the Sidi Kerir thermal power plant project worth 149.6 million dollars.
