Strong earthquake shakes South Pole: Japanese agencyAn earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale shook the South Pole on Sunday noon, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. The quake occurred at around 12:41 a.m. Tokyo time (0341 GMT). Its epicenter is at 61.0 degrees southern latitude and 34.5 degrees western longitude, according to the agency.
