A survey by the China Brand Research Institute shows that Tieguanyin, a famous variety of oolong tea, has become the most popular Chinese farm brand with foreigners.

Over 2,600 foreign businessmen from more than 40 countries such as France, the United Kingdom and the United States took part in the survey to name the top ten Chinese brands.

Tieguanyin, the best oolong tea variety produced in Anxi County, in east China's Fujian Province, takes third place in the list after microwave oven and air conditioner manufacturer Galanz and men's clothing producer Younger. It ranks first among farm produce brands.

The other seven brands are all consumer electronic products, including Haier, Changhong and TCL.

Anxi produces around 45,000 tons of tea leaves each year, one third of the mainland's total oolong tea production.
