Reports released by Apple recently found that working hours of Apple's assembling factory in China exceed 60 hours a week. The reports stated that a third of Apple's workers in China's assemble factory are overworked, and sometimes work hours exceed 6 days a week.
Apple was under the impression that workers actually work 60 hours a week, and has requested its factories in China to enforce a "regular" 60 hours a week.
However, the report said that there is no evidence for forcing workers to work for such hours, there is no child labor and the workers are not punished if they refuse to work over-time.
Earlier this year, a British newspaper claimed that working conditions in China's factory were abominable and that Apple used a group to conduct first-hand investigation. The group said they had personal discussions with as many as 100 workers and checked the logbook many times.
However, the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions criticized the report, stating that they objected Apple's report. They said there were about 30, 000 workers in Apple's China factory but that Apple had just had talked to 100 of them.
