Two abducted journalists freed in Gaza: Palestinia n interior ministry sources
font size

Two abducted journalists working for the Fox News were freed in Gaza on Sunday, Palestinian Interior Ministry sources said.

On Aug. 14, Fox correspondent Steve Centanni and cameraman Olaf Wiig were snatched by unknown gunmen near Palestinian security services headquarter in Gaza City when a truck intercepted them and forced them out of their vehicle.

A previously unknown group claimed on Wednesday responsibility for the abduction, demanding that the United States release Muslim prisoners held in U.S. jails within 72 hours.

Earlier in the day, the two journalists said in a videotape that the kidnappers would not kill them after they converted to Islam.
