China dismisses chief procurator of Tianjin
font size

China's top legislature dismissed Li Baojin, procurator-general of the Tianjin municipal procuratorate, from his post on charges of "severe breach of discipline" here Sunday.

The decision was made by the NPC Standing Committee at the end of its six-day legislative session.

The NPC notice did not provide detailed reasons for Li's dismissal, but said he is suspected of "grave violations of discipline".

The Tianjin municipal people's congress has already approved Li's request to resign from the Tianjin municipal procuratorate.
